Roy Thurik is full professor at the Montpellier Business School in France. He is emeritus professor at the Erasmus School of Economics (Erasmus University Rotterdam) and at the Free University of Amsterdam. He is a Research Fellow at the Tinbergen Institute for Economic Sciences and the Erasmus Research Institute for Management. Moreover, he is Research Fellow at the Institute for Development Strategies (School for Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University) and Institute for the Study of Labor (Bonn, Germany).
Roy’s research focuses on the role of small firms in markets, the role of business owners in firms, entrepreneurship and well-being, industrial organisation and policy, the consequences and causes of entrepreneurship in economies and biology and behaviour.
